So the apt complex where I live is repainting all of the buildings. Good for them, I don't mind the effort to keep things looking nice. However, the contractors that were hired are apparently form the east coast. There are large
sandwich boards in all the parking lots that read, "PLEASE HAVE VEHICLES MOVED BY 8AM, PAINTING TOMORROW". Now, I have to be to work by 8am, so I really wasn't bothered by this. This morning I was about to leave my apt (at 7:35am) and when I
opened the door I was almost tagged in the face by a spray gun. I feel the boards should have told me they meant 8am eastern time. The conversation that followed went something like this:
"Um, Hi?"
"Oh! Hi."
"Yeah, I need to go to work."
"
OK, you going to work?"
"Yes."
(
Incomprehensible yelling over the balcony as I walk down to the 1st floor where I find my car covered in a tarp)
"Hi, yeah, this is my car. I need to go to work."
"Oh,
ok."
"Thanks."
I guess I should be thankful the contractors were thoughtful enough to cover my car, but then again, they wouldn't have had to cover it if they would have started at 8am central time!!
