The search continues

I am still on the lookout for the perfect job. I know, my sights are set pretty high with "perfect", but why not?
In other news, I attended my 10 year high school reunion last weekend. It was actually a lot of fun and I enjoyed catching up with the folks I graduated with. Everyone was doing well and seemed very happy. I was incredibly pleased with the lack of drama. In addition to the reunion, my nephew and I hung out at Monkey Biz (an indoor playground for the wee ones) and I volunteered at the KC Zoo. Everyone should check out the new polar bear exhibit, its real nice.
Ok, so off to more applications. Have a great Labor Day weekend!

More free time

So looks like all my promises of updating more may actually come true. I am now the newest member of the unemployed. I'm not really worried, which may be silly, but why be negative when I was just granted a fresh start. So if you hear of a really amazing opportunity, drop me a line :).

A case of the Mondays

I have been training for another triathlon over the last few months. Sometimes I ride my bike to work (its about 5.25 miles each way). Yesterday was one of those days that I rode to work. On my way home, while waiting at a stoplight, I fell over. Yep- fell over. It was pretty amazing since a) I wasn't in motion and b) it happened at the busiest intersection I cross on my ride. In addition to my severely injured ego, I also managed to remove a layer of skin from my left leg. It hurts like crazy and looks pretty nasty too. In the future I think I will try to fall in a more remote location.

Here we go again

So, once again I have succeeded in an epic fail. I have not written for 3 months. Let's catch up, shall we?
1) I would now consider myself a triathlete. I have completed 2 indoor and 1 outdoor and am signed up for 2 this summer (one of which I am the member of a 3 chick team).
2) As I type, my "kitten" is refusing sleep. I thought he would mature with his age however, like his owner, he maintains a constant level of immaturity.
3) I turned 28, yesterday.
4) My favorite shows at the moment are: Glee, Modern Family, Castle and Grey's Anatomy.
5) I didn't get that awesome beach blogger job, but I am still holding out for winning the powerball.

Alright, so that is about it. Now its that time in the post where I promise to be better at updating. Maybe I should update my blog every time I check facebook. Yes, that sounds like a great idea. Onward!

You'll shoot your eye out (or detach someone's retina)

If you thought the woman who burned her lady parts with hot coffee and sued McDonald's was a stupid case then you are going to love the latest off the wall suit against the KC Royals and a wiener mishap at the stadium last year.
I love that this story made TMZ. That should illustrate the credibility of this case.

Get your hair did?

I always thought of dredlocks as kind of nasty. Who knew they could be so useful?

And it all started at the Waffle House.

Poor little lizards

Thanks to a co-worker for this little gem of a story.

My favorite part is that perpetrator had these guys stashed "in a hand-sewn package concealed in his underwear."
Seriously? I guess that makes sense, considering most stores don't sell that kind of garment.

Didn't really take

So . . . the posting recipes idea didn't really take. I still love cooking and finding new things to make, but posting about them was less interesting. Looking back over some older posts I think my original format was going well. The problem is the poster (ie: Me). I don't make New Years Resolutions, but if I did, it would be to be better at posting on a regular basis. Let's do this.
